Prestigious english magazine Decanter has named CORIMBO I Platinum Best in Show, the best red wine over £15 in the world made with Spanish varieties. This great Ribera del Duero wine from Bodegas LA HORRA was the best in its category at Decanter World Wine Awards 2016 (DWWA), the largest and most prestigious wine contest in the world, world renowned for its rigorous tasting process and panel of judges.

More than 16,000 wine from around the world were submitted to this year's Decanter Awards and were blind tested by a panel of 244 experts (69 Masters of Wine, 26 Masters Sommeliers, 36 experts on the individual winemaking areas and writers from Decanter magazine) presided over by Steven Spurrier and Gerard Basset. The tastings took place in London from 25 to 30 April, choosing the best wines according to the criteria of the judges, who work in small teams based on their specialties.

The tasting process has three phases: 1.- All of the wines submitted are tasted and the bronze, silver and gold medals are awarded in each category, by region and style. 2.- The gold medal winners from each category are tasted and the best one is chosen for the platinum medal, one per category. 3.- Finally, all of the platinum medal winners from comparable categories are tasted and the best one is named Platinum Best In Show, which is the one that has received CORIMBO I.
