CLIMATIC CYCLE

A year of irregular rains concentrated in Autumn. During the month of June there were some summer storms. Summer was very warm, so the harvest started earlier. Good polyphenolic load and excellent sanitary conditions. A year of perfect wines.

Vineyards:

Small plots in La Horra, Roa and nearby villages in Burgos.


Age of the vineyards:

Bush vines with an average age of 70 years


Harvest:

Hand-picked in 16 kg crates and hand sorted at the winery


Fermentation:

Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in French oak vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels


Aging:

16 months in barrique, 80% French and 20% American


Stabilisation:

Natural methods


Clarification:

Lyophilized egg white


Alcohol content:

14,5% Vol.


Packaging:

Wooden cases of 6 bottles


Formats:

Bottles of 50cl, 75cl, 1,5l, 3l and 6l.

TASTING

Colour:

Very intense with a dark cherry background and dark red rim.


Nose:

Very intense, full of fruit. Blackberries, plums and black berries. Hugely expressive with perfectly integrated oak. Black profile with red notes.


Taste:

Voluminous, fresh, very rich. With a magnificent fruit. Fine but present tannin. Magnificent wine.

Excellent to have with meat dishes.
